Books I love books. I spend all of my money on them, and if I have any left over, I buy food. Oscar Wilde is my hero, and I love Niel Gaiman and Chuck Paulnick. I also am fond of David Sedaris and Richard Feynman, Terry Prattchet, Franchesca Lia Block, and Tom Robbins. I read Macbeth for fun when I was fourteen. I love the Princess Bride and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I'm currently struggling through Arabian Nights. I have gorgeous leatherbound copies of the Complete Sherlock Holmes, Shakespeare, Hans Christian Anderson, and Poe. I used to read an insane amout of Tamora Pierce, and before that, Animorphs. I still remember most of it.
Non Fiction Dr. Rose's Sex Advice for all Creation is not what you think it is. Our Inner Ape and Blink and The End of Faith are all amazing. Zero is a history book for math geeks. A Brief History of Time and The Satanic Bible, and anything else by Stephen Hawking and Anton LaVey, respectively.
Comic Books I also love comics. Engage me in a debate about Marvel versus DC -- it'll be fun. But when all is said and done, I love Dark Horse best. I also am fond of indie comics, such as Scott Pilgrim and Sharknife. I get excited about Sandman and Hellboy and The Goon and Astonishing X-Men, because it was written by Joss Whedon. I shake my head sadly every time a comic book movie comes out, but I still camp out to see it at midnight.
Manga My guilty pleasure is Sailor Moon, followed by Fruits Basket. I love Trigun and Hellsing, I read Yu Yu Hakusho and I think Battle Royale is amazing.
Web Comics Girl Genius! I've been reading Penny Arcade for years. xkcd brings out my inner emo mathematician, Questionable Content, my inner indie nerd, and Ctrl Alt Del, my inner gamer snob. Saturday Morning Breakfeast Cereal is good times, and I love both Looking For Group and Least I Could Do. Rooster Teeth is almost as funny as the videos they make.
Video Games I can kick your ass at Tetris. Really. I could also probably own you at Soul Calibur, but I'm not making promises on that one. Super Smash is awesome, and I love Zelda games more than is healthy. Mario really goes without saying. Dead Rising is gross and fun. Conker's Bad Fur Day [the one for the N64, heathen] is the greatest video game ever made. DDR and Elite Beat Agents are guilty pleasures. I hate first person shooters, mostly because I'm crap at them. The exception would be Portal, because it really isn't a FPS at all.
Movies I love the ones that are played at midnight at old theatres. I grew up knowing that Pulp Fiction was the greatest movie ever made, but I think now that it might be Rocky Horror, or perhaps Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. Does Interstella 5555 count as a movie? It might also be Aladdin -- my first crush -- or perhaps the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies. They are, after all, heroes in a half shell. I am a Sex Addict is the best movie you've never seen. I also have a secret, unholy love for any movie that could be made into a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 episode.
Television Totally don't own one. But I do own all of Firefly on DVD, and I watch Arrested Development and The IT Crowd when I can get my hands on it. Also, Titus and the old-school Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Mulder was sexy in X Files and is still sexy in Californiacation, and Dexter rocks pretty hard. Heroes kicks ass, if only for the comic-book like design. I watch some Adult Swim -- Venture Bros, Sealab 2021, and Lucy, Daughter of the Devil. I love cartoons -- especailly Fritz the Cat. My favorites are Gargoyles, Animaniacs, Merry Melodies, old Betty Boop and, of course, Ninja Tutles.
Anime Cowboy Bebop makes me act like Ed, and Excel Saga, like ExcelExcel. I love Deathnote and Damekko Doubutsu and Big O and Jungle wa Itsumo Hale nochi Guu and, of course, Lupin III. I'm obsessing over the new Hellsing, and my favorite Miyazaki film is Pom Poko, because what's not to love about raccoons with magical balls? Bible Black is hot in Japanese and hilarious in English.
Music American Pie and 88 Lines About 44 Women make me cry. Devil Went Down to Georgia makes me dance. Anything by Tom Lehrer makes me laugh. The Yoshida Brothers rock so hard. I like Dirty Sanchez -- the group, not the maneuver -- and The Pirate Charles. I like The ATMA and The Janks. I go see Royal Crown Revue live whenever I can, and I sing Cherry Poppin' Daddies under my breath. Oingo Boingo, The Police, Queen, David Bowie, Gogol Bordello, Flogging Molly, Gorillaz, and Daft Punk make me happy. I listen to video game soundtracks.
Food I like sushi [duh]. I like avocado with lemon juice and anything with garlic. Take me to the Stinking Rose if you're filthy rich. Take me to a fondue place if you're trying to impress me. And if you're really broke, like me, take me out to a taco truck and make me a fruit salad. I like kiwi and mango and blackberry.
